General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out during the first selection and commendation of “National Engineer Award” that engineers are an important force to promote engineering science and technology for the benefit of mankind and the creation of the future, and they are an important part of the national strategic talent force.

Recently, the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Zhejiang Province announced the list of outstanding engineers in Zhejiang Province. Chen Xuehua, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group, and Yang Jie, General Manager of the Science and Technology Management Center, were selected as the first batch of Engineers of Excellence in Zhejiang Province.

Chairman Chen Xuehua proposed in the 2024 work conference that in order to cope with the market challenges and stimulate the new momentum of the industry, it is necessary to build the three pillars of Science and Technology Huayou, Green Huayou and Open Huayou. He emphasized that Huayou should vigorously implement the science and innovation strategy of “supporting the industry and leading the future”, maintain stable investment in scientific research, accelerate technological progress, focus on breakthroughs in key core technologies of new energy lithium-ion materials with high energy density, high power, low cost, and ultra-long cycle, establish a high-level scientific research team, and strengthen the independent innovation capability of the company to build a new quality of industrial integration.

Since the establishment of Huayou Cobalt, under the leadership of Mr. Chen Xuehua, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Huayou Cobalt has consistently implemented the competitive strategy of “product leadership and cost leadership”, and has taken scientific and technological innovation as the cornerstone to continuously improve scientific and technological insight, research and application, and has tackled a number of key technologies of power battery material preparation, continuously improved R&D, production and product quality control level, and built a complete, advanced scientific and technological innovation system, from pyrometallurgical smelting to hydrometallurgical smelting, from high-voltage cobalt products to high-nickel precursors, from the 330 scientific research program to cover the entire industrial chain of the system of science and innovation, we got scientific and technological achievements, and won more than one national and provincial awards. In the past five years, the company has invested more than 5 billion CNY in scientific and technological innovation, and has 459 nationally authorized patents and 218 drafted standards. Especially in the last month, Huayou participated in two scientific research achievements - Lithium precursor reaction crystallization new equipment development and intelligent manufacturing of high-end anode materials and High-efficiency and low-carbon treatment technology and application of lithium solid waste with whole-process optimization won the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress in 2023.
