Recently, the kick-off meeting for the "Development and Industrialization of High-Safety, High-Energy Density Solid-State Battery Cathode Materials" project was held in Quzhou. This project, led by Huayou New Energy Industry Group and jointly implemented with upstream and downstream enterprises and research institutions such as Beijing Weilan New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Zhejiang University, and Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, aims to tackle key technologies for high-density, long-life, and high-rate solid-state battery cathode materials.

The project focuses on overcoming existing technical bottlenecks in solid-state battery development. Based on establishing a platform for developing solid-state battery cathode materials, it plans to construct advanced production lines capable of producing tens of thousands of tons of solid-state battery cathode materials annually. This will accelerate the R&D and industrialization of high-safety, high-energy density solid-state battery cathode materials, promote the development of the solid-state battery industry chain, and enhance the influence of China's new energy industry.

At the kick-off meeting, Chen Yaozhong, Senior Vice President of the Group and President of Huayou New Energy Industry Group, thanked Director Hong Xiaoyong from the Quzhou Development and Reform Commission, industry experts, and representatives from all participating entities. He stated that the "Development and Industrialization of High-Safety, High-Energy Density Solid-State Battery Cathode Materials" project is a crucial part of the group’s strategy in solid-state battery cathode materials and an important step in upgrading the company's industries. The success of this project will become a new growth point for the company. The successful convening of the kick-off meeting not only affirms the preparatory work done but also lays a solid foundation for the subsequent implementation of the project. With joint efforts from all parties involved, the project is expected to achieve significant results, contributing to enhancing the industrialization level of solid-state batteries and promoting high-quality development in China's new energy industry.

Huayou New Energy Industry Group has a strong foundation in the R&D of solid-state battery cathode materials. Currently, ultra-high nickel ternary cathode materials for semi-solid-state batteries have been successfully mass-produced and applied to terminal customers' ultra-long-range models. Additionally, the company has successfully developed Li- and Mn-rich (LMR) cathode materials, 5V spinel, and ultra-high nickel ternary cathode materials for all-solid-state batteries, which have received full recognition from leading industry customers.
