The Goromonzi Community Development Project in Zimbabwe is promoted by key organizations including the UN Global Compact’s Sino-African Sustainable Development Action Network and the Sustainable Infrastructure Construction for Accelerating SDGs under the “Belt and Road” Initiative. These entities pool resources and wisdom together. As a crucial supporting platform, Huayou Cobalt worked alongside three Chinese listed companies and the University of Zimbabwe to conduct comprehensive community feasibility studies, listening to the needs of local residents, resulting in widely recognized and positively received project plans.

The project aims at comprehensively enhancing community development through systematic and diversified measures, covering four core sub-projects:

“Health Leads to Success” - A community health promotion program that uses innovative methods to disseminate health knowledge, integrates fun teaching methods and medical resources to enhance children's awareness of disease prevention and health literacy.

“Skills Lead to Success - Youth Vocational Program” - Precisely aligns market demands, offering customized vocational training courses to help young people acquire professional skills and gain decent employment opportunities, thereby improving their competitiveness in the job market.

“Weaving the Future” - Women empowerment projects focus on female group development, providing professional sewing skill training courses and establishing order connection channels to help women achieve economic independence and improve their social status.

“Energy Fairness Leads to Success” - A community power fairness project dedicated to promoting the popularization of green energy locally, providing stable and sustainable power support for students' learning, small business production, and young entrepreneurs’ startups, narrowing the gap in energy resource allocation.
