Driven by battery leaders accounting for over 80% of the global electric vehicle battery market, the initiative aims to build a unified global framework covering carbon footprint tracking, critical mineral traceability, and ESG performance. This framework will provide technical foundations for regulations like the EU’s New Battery Regulation.

As a core GBA working body, the CCMAG Steering Committee focuses on responsible sourcing, circular economy models, and full lifecycle management of critical minerals (e.g., lithium, cobalt, nickel). By formulating international standards, coordinating policy, and driving technological innovation, CCMAG addresses resource bottlenecks and accelerates the green transition of the battery industry. Membership is strictly vetted via nomination and board approval, with only top-tier global industry representatives qualifying.
