Huayou Cobalt has released an impressive mid-year performance report: from January to June 2025, the company expects to achieve net profits ranging from RMB 2.6 billion to RMB 2.8 billion, representing a year-on-year surge of 55.62% to 67.59%.

This counter-cyclical growth stems from Huayou’s persistent focus on industrial integration, technological innovation, and cost management. A standout contributor is the Huafei Project in Indonesia, where production capacity has exceeded expectations and achieved technological breakthroughs.

“Since reaching full capacity last year, the Huafei Project has continuously exceeded production targets, with output capacity steadily rising,” said the project leader. As a critical link in Huayou’s “nickel resources-nickel smelting-ternary materials” industrial chain, the stable operation of both the Huafei and Huayue projects has significantly boosted Huayou’s self-sufficiency in MHP raw materials, effectively mitigating risks from raw material price fluctuations.Back at the Tongxiang headquarters, R&D teams are testing the cycle performance of next-generation high-nickel ternary materials. “Our NCM811 product, enhanced through doping modification, achieves a cycle life of over 3,000 cycles and an energy density of 280Wh/kg, 15% higher than industry averages,” explained the R&D Director. This technological edge has positioned Huayou to seize market opportunities as demand for EV power batteries rebounds.

In Indonesia, the Phase II of the 50,000-ton high-nickel ternary precursor materials project achieved mechanical completion in just 284 days, employing internationally advanced NCM811 high-nickel precursor preparation technology.
